How much does it cost to learn Dutch?
For persons integrating the social orientation and basic Dutch language courses are free of charge. You may have to pay for the books (with a maximum of 42 euro).
Are you not attending social orientation classes? Then the price varies from school to school. You pay at Atlas. You can pay cash or by debit card.
Bring every possible certificate: Dutch language course, OCMW (public centre for social wellbeing), VDAB (Flemish public employment agency), disability, Onthaalbureau Inburgering (integration welcome office)... Together we will find out whether you can have any discounts.
Does Atlas teach Dutch?
No, Atlas does not teach Dutch. Atlas refers you to a school.
An Atlas staff member finds out with you where, when and how often you can attend a Dutch language course.
I want to simultaneously work and learn Dutch or integrate. Can I?
No problem! You can attend a Dutch language course or social orientation classes on weekdays (during the day or in the evening) or sometimes in the weekend. An Atlas staff member helps you find the appropriate course.
Which languages does the Atlas staff speak?
The Atlas staff speaks more than 30 different languages including English, French, Modern Standard Arabic, Polish, Turkish, Spanish, Portuguese, Hindi, Urdu, Pashtu, Dari, Farsi, Romanian, Russian, Armenian, Serbian, Croatian, Somali, Albanian, Moroccan Arabic, Tamazight, Chinese and Bulgarian. Atlas sometimes uses interpreters.
I already speak some Dutch. Do I still have to come by at Atlas?
Do you have a recent Dutch language course certificate? You can choose. You can enrol directly at a school of your choice, but you are always welcome at Atlas.
