- Do you have a degree from a country other than Belgium? You can have it validated in Belgium. Atlas will guide you through this procedure.
- Do you have children? Atlas will work with you to find a school for your children.
- Looking for work or training? Atlas guides you towards the right organisations.
- Looking for activities to do in your spare time? Or activities for your child? Atlas will help you with your questions about sports, volunteering, …
- Atlas will also give you tips to practise Dutch.
- Do you need to pass the oral Dutch language test B1 after your civic integration certificate? Do you want to continue learning Dutch after passing level A2? Atlas offers advice.
- Do you have a question about Belgian nationality, family reunification, asylum procedure, your residence card, … ? Ask for advice at the office for permanent legal assistance for foreigners.
What happens during the first appointment?
- An Atlas staff member will inform you in your own language or a language you speak well.
- You will discuss your personal situation together.
- You will receive information about the civic integration programme. You will discuss questions such as:
- How can you combine the social orientation course with a Dutch language course?
- Do you already speak Dutch? Or do you already know a lot about life in Belgium? What should you do then?
- What are your digital competences?
- …
- You will agree on your enrolment, the start date and the course location. You will look for the best options together.
- You will have a personal counsellor. This counsellor will coach you throughout the entire programme.
You can also have an online conversation with an Atlas staff member. You will have the conversation on the civic integration programme and learning Dutch via video chat.
Please note: Do you have to take a Dutch language test? You will receive an appointment at Atlas.

- a valid passport, identity card or residence permit
- Payconic, Bancontact, Maestro or Visa/Mastercard to pay for the courses and/or books. Read more about the prices.
- (if applicable) OCMW certificates (public centre for social wellbeing), VDAB certificates (Flemish public employment agency), asylum centre certificate, integration certificate (inburgeringsattest), certificate of Dutch
- (if applicable) proof that you are working or studying
